DIY: Coin Bracelet

At the beginning of this summer I went on a study abroad trip to Italy for 3 weeks. It was such an amazing experience and probably the best 3 weeks of my life. When I got home I had a some extra Euro coins in my wallet and a friend of mine gave me an idea to make them into a charm bracelet. I thought it was such a good idea and a cute way to always remember my trip.

Materials:
  • Euros (ranging in size and amount)
  • Metal chain
  • Jump rings of multiple sizes
  • Drill with small drill bit
  • Bracelet closure
  • Pliers

First I cleaned some of the coins by washing them in just warm soapy water. Then, using the drill and small drill bit I drilled a little hole into each coin somewhat close to the edge. Using the pliers I separated the chain at a link at the right length for a bracelet. Using the jump rings I attatched each coin to a link on the chain of the bracelet then added the closures to each end.

Here is a photo of the final piece! I really love it and I'm happy with how it turned out. It will definitely be a good reminder of an amazing trip to Italy.

DIY: Tribal Shoes

I've been seeing a lot of tribal print on everything from shirts to shorts and shoes. It's a trend that is definitely in right now and I thought it would be fun to make tribal shoes with some basic white shoes from H&M

The tools you will need are:
White shoes (I bought mine at H&M for $12.50)
Fabric Markers (Purchased from Michaels craft store)
Pencil
Ruler

First I took out the laces of the shoes so I could color every part of the shoes

After this I drew on some lines with the rule to make straight lines across the toe part of the shoe (but forgot to take a picture) and after a bit I found it easier to just hand draw the designs as I went and this is what I ended up with!

I'm really happy with how they turned out and I might try making another pair with different and brighter colors.

Thanks for reading!

The Polished Designer

I've decided to make a blog to put up my nail polish designs, crafts that I make, and recipes! Just a place for me to document my projects and share my ideas.
