DIY: Coin Bracelet

At the beginning of this summer I went on a study abroad trip to Italy for 3 weeks. It was such an amazing experience and probably the best 3 weeks of my life. When I got home I had a some extra Euro coins in my wallet and a friend of mine gave me an idea to make them into a charm bracelet. I thought it was such a good idea and a cute way to always remember my trip.

Materials:
  • Euros (ranging in size and amount)
  • Metal chain
  • Jump rings of multiple sizes
  • Drill with small drill bit
  • Bracelet closure
  • Pliers

First I cleaned some of the coins by washing them in just warm soapy water. Then, using the drill and small drill bit I drilled a little hole into each coin somewhat close to the edge. Using the pliers I separated the chain at a link at the right length for a bracelet. Using the jump rings I attatched each coin to a link on the chain of the bracelet then added the closures to each end.

Here is a photo of the final piece! I really love it and I'm happy with how it turned out. It will definitely be a good reminder of an amazing trip to Italy.
